Day Thirty One
Surrender Into…Getting Everything Done
One of my greatest challenges while being the messenger of this journey, has been trusting that I will get everything done between my work, travel, family, and writing responsibilities. I’ve had to continuously practice the art of surrender, so I could let go and trust that I could fulfill all these responsibilities and serve all those counting on me.
I consistently ask Spirit for help. I pray endlessly that I will be able to complete everything in both my personal and professional life. Every single time I feel overwhelmed, I check in with Spirit and Spirit answers. Spirit always reassures me that I will receive everything I need – I only need to trust.
See if any of these reflections pertain to you…
- Do you spend a lot of time worrying and wondering how you’re going to get everything done, especially when you are under the constraints of multiple responsibilities, schedules, and deadlines?
- Do you spend too much time in your head working out how everything is going to get done vs. living in the present moment?
- Do you trust that you will receive everything you need to accomplish all that you have to do?
- Are you too hard on yourself? Do you believe if you don’t get everything done, everything will fall apart, or others will be upset with you?
If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then it’s time for you to create more peace in your busy life. It’s time to surrender the internal pressures you place upon yourself while dealing with your busy life in this busy world.
Before I give you the how-tos, I need to ask you to be open-minded. You have a large part to play in all of this. I will share how you can surrender to the Divine so you can ask for help and support, but your part is having the desire to create more balance in your life.
Ask yourself –
- Do you have balance between “doing” and “being?”
- Does your overloaded schedule work for you where every minute is filled with doing, and no time for breathing or taking care of yourself?
- Do you make time in your day to just “be?”
- Do you allow yourself to enjoy much needed rest and self-care? Do you make time or give yourself permission to have playtime for yourself and with your loved ones?
Day Thirty One
Trust…The Divine Can Pave the Way
Faith is key when you choose to surrender. You must trust the Divine. You need to believe and feel worthy that you can be supported by the Divine in every aspect of your life, including the help to get everything done and to have more balance.
Here are some of my recommendations based on personal experience.
Pray and surrender to the Divine every day. Ask for all the help you need to get everything done with peace and ease.
Ask for time to work with you. When you need more time, ask time to expand and for time to work with you and then believe. For example, next time you’re running late, ask the Divine to stretch time for you or ask the Divine to clear the way removing all obstacles in your way. (This really works! I was stuck in traffic headed to catch a flight at Logan airport and we were at a dead stop in traffic. The GPS said we would arrive at the airport twenty minutes before the flight’s departure. I prayed and I prayed hard. I asked the Divine to find a way if I was meant to be on that flight. Miracles happened, and we hopped on the HOV lane in heavy Boston traffic and we arrived a half hour earlier than the previous estimated time of arrival).
Surrender and trust when everything doesn’t go according to your plans. This is when you really need to trust the Divine and to believe that all is unfolding for a purpose greater than you know yourself. Surrender your attachment to the outcome and trust the Divine knows why even if you don’t. (This is exactly where I am at right now. Our flight was cancelled yesterday, and I really wanted to be home for my birthday today, but I am not. I will be flying home this afternoon. How does it serve me to be upset and disappointed? It doesn’t. It takes away from my joy of being open to experience what the moment has to offer me. I trust all is well and may be better than I can imagine.)
Do the best you can with what you have. Catch yourself when you are beating yourself up in any way. Remember, you are doing the best job you can especially when there is a lot going on.
Pray for the balance you need. Believe me when I say, you may not realize when you are out of balance because you are so used to doing and being busy. Let the Divine show you the way to experience healthy balance.
Surrender the need to be perfect and surrender the fear of disappointing others. When you change the old habit of over extending yourself and doing for others, they might not be too happy when you make changes to create more balance for you. They are used to you being the responsible one. Take one day at a time and stand your ground in creating more balance. Ask the Divine for support. In the end, you will be empowering them to do things for themselves.
I hope this supports you. I know it supported me. In this reflection, I have more awareness and I realize I need to practice this for myself. I have come a long way but there is more room for balance in my life. I hope you surrender with me and you gift yourself the opportunity to create more balance in your life with the help and support of the Divine.
